About AMALGAMATED EC

AMALGAMATED EC (Formerly ALMEX Aluminium) was established in November 2006 as a small family business in East London with only two staff members. Today we employ 21 staff members which has grown with our companies. Our main focus was primarily domestic and engineering aluminium products. We grew in strength year on year and started to diversify our product range on offer. In 2007 we brought the finished product line into existence which consists mainly of doors, windows and showers. In addition to that we decided to move into the dry-wall and ceiling supply to allow and equip our customers to grow their business as well.

In 2013 we expanded our business with a branch in Port Elizabeth, Amalgamated Drywall and Ceiling suppliers which is managed and co-owned by our son and his wife, Juan and Nikki Johnson. In the 18 years that AMALGAMATED Aluminium has been in the East London market we established a very strong presence and is known for our service and quality of products. Amalgamated presence in Port Elizabeth for the last 11 years has also established an independent supplier to the market with excellent values and quality.

In 2019, we expanded a little more and opened a branch in Komani (Queenstown). We service Komani as well as the surrounding areas with quality material and excellent service.

AMALGAMATED EC are all family owned and managed with a great working relationship with some of the top suppliers and brands in the South African market. We strive to supply the market with the best brands and services available as we are all very passionate and committed towards our business and that of our customers’.

Our staff experience and expertise within our fields has developed some of the most technically equipped personnel in the industry. Collectively we have over fifty years’ experience in our respective fields of trade.
